I Almost Quit Blogging Before I Even Began

Scrabble tiles spelling 'BLOG' on a wooden background, symbolizing creativity and writing.

Have you ever had a dream that felt so big, but the moment you tried to start, you felt completely overwhelmed? That was me a few weeks ago.

Way back in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt inspired to start a blog. But back then, I did not have the means or the know-how, so the dream had to wait. Fast forward to today, the timing was finally right—except I quickly realized I had no idea what I was doing.

The Setup Nightmare

I thought starting a blog would be as easy as typing a few words and clicking a button. Oh, was I wrong.

Suddenly, I was trying to figure out what Bluehost was, why it used WordPress, and how to make everything look nice. Words like “hosting,” “domains,” and “plug-ins” felt like a foreign language.

I looked at my computer screen, stared at the dashboard, and felt a wave of heavy anxiety. My mind was racing: What if I break something? What if nobody reads this? Why is this so hard? There was a moment—sitting right there at my desk—where I wanted to close the laptop and walk away forever. I almost gave up.

Finding the Light

Changing your mind or feeling scared when starting something new is completely normal. But looking back, I am so glad I did not quit.

With a lot of patience and prayers, a trusty tutor to guide me through installing Astra, and holding onto my original inspiration from years ago, I pushed through the frustration.

If you are sitting there right now feeling stuck, confused, or ready to throw in the towel on your own project, take a deep breath. You do not have to know everything on day one. You just have to take it one small step at a time.

If you’re also starting something new, I hope you’ll stay with me as I learn, grow, make mistakes, and discover what works. This is only the beginning of my journey—and maybe yours, too.
